Will Pawan Sehrawat Lead Tamil Thalaivas to Glory in PKL 12?

Chennai, Aug 13 (NationPress) The Tamil Thalaivas have officially appointed Pawan Sehrawat as their Captain and Arjun Deshwal as Vice-Captain for the upcoming Season 12 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). This announcement signifies the dawn of a fresh era for the team as they aim for success.

Known as the High Flyer of PKL, Pawan Sehrawat is among the most electrifying players in the league's history. He made headlines as the most expensive player when Tamil Thalaivas signed him for ₹2.26 crore in Season 9. A representative of the Reserve Bank of India, Pawan has also brought national pride by clinching the gold medal at both the 2019 South Asian Games and the 2023 Asian Kabaddi Championship.

Regarding the leadership duo, Head Coach Sanjeev Balyan stated, "Pawan is a tested leader and one of the league's most formidable players. His skill in managing pressure, motivating teammates, and performing during critical moments makes him the perfect captain for Tamil Thalaivas this season."

Supporting him is Arjun Deshwal, known as the Raid Machine of PKL, who steps into the Vice-Captain role. Originating from Uttar Pradesh, Arjun is a distinguished raider and currently serves as a DSP in the state police. His impressive career features a gold medal with the Indian national team at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

On Vice-Captain Arjun Deshwal, Sanjeev added: "I’ve had the honor of working with Arjun when he captained Jaipur Pink Panthers, and I can attest to the commitment, discipline, and calmness he brings to the field. He is a natural leader on and off the mat, and together with Pawan, they create a strong leadership foundation."

Alongside the leadership announcement, Tamil Thalaivas also revealed their primary kit for Season 12. The kit, adorned in an all-blue design with striking gold accents, symbolizes the team’s renewed vigor and ambition. The gold reflects their ultimate aim for the season: to secure the top prize in kabaddi.
