Pune, Dec 23 (NationPress) Puneri Paltan secured a commanding 10-point triumph over Tamil Thalaivas, winning 42-32 in Season 11 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) held at the Badminton Hall of the Balewadi Sports Complex on Monday. The defending champions wrapped up their season on a high, thanks to a Super 10 from Aryavardhan Navale and a High-5 from Gaurav Khatri, while other players also shone in a complete team effort.

Abhishek Manokaran kicked off the scoring with the initial tackle of the evening before Sachin and Aryavardhan Navale exchanged two-point raids in the early phases. The latter propelled Puneri Paltan into the lead at 5-4. V. Ajith Kumar further increased the lead with a pair of successful raids.

Puneri Paltan swiftly registered their first All Out, initiated by Sanket Sawant’s tackle on Himanshu, giving them a four-point advantage at 10-6. Aryavardhan Navale then intensified the pressure, executing a Super Raid, followed by a tackle from V. Ajith Kumar, allowing the reigning champions to inflict another All Out shortly after, extending their lead to thirteen points within the first ten minutes, with the score at 20-7.

Pankaj Mohite took a moment to score with a do-or-die raid, while Aman achieved 50 tackle points for the season, keeping Puneri Paltan firmly in control. Tamil Thalaivas managed to halt the momentum with some solid defense, ending the first half at 28-13.

The second half began slowly, with defensive strategies taking precedence as Amir Hossein Bastami and Himanshu made notable contributions on both ends of the court, helping Tamil Thalaivas gain some traction. However, Aryavardhan Navale completed his Super 10, maintaining a 13-point cushion for Puneri Paltan.

Gaurav Khatri, Sanket Sawant, and Aman were impactful on defense, while Ajith Kumar kept the raiding unit active, ensuring their side maintained the lead as the match approached its final moments. Tamil Thalaivas struggled to shake off the double-digit deficit, with Puneri Paltan comfortably controlling the second half.

Himanshu showcased determination for Tamil Thalaivas, while Gaurav Khatri achieved his High-5, solidifying the early advantage for Puneri Paltan and leading to their victory in their last match.

Ali Hadi executed a Super Tackle to assist the defending champions in surpassing the 40-point mark in the closing minutes. Tamil Thalaivas concluded with a couple of tackles from Nitesh Kumar, who also completed his High-5, and Abhishek Manokaran. Puneri Paltan emerged victorious with a final score of 42-32.
