PKL Season 11: Haryana Steelers Capture First Championship by Defeating Patna Pirates

Pune, Dec 29 (NationPress) The Haryana Steelers, who dominated the league stage in PKL Season 11, showcased a remarkable performance on the mat this past Sunday night, ultimately claiming their inaugural PKL championship by defeating the Patna Pirates at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi, Pune.
With the star player Mohammadreza Shadloui in exceptional form, the Haryana Steelers secured a decisive victory with a final score of 32-23.
For the victorious Haryana Steelers, Shivam Patare contributed 9 points, Mohammadreza Shadloui tallied 7 points, and Vinay added 6 points to their total. The champions received a prize of Rs 3 crore, while the runners-up, the Patna Pirates, took home Rs 1.8 crore.
The evening began with an electrifying start as the Haryana Steelers quickly gained the first few points, establishing an early lead. Although Devank and Ankit from the Patna Pirates fought vigorously, it was the Haryana Steelers who controlled the pace of the match, with Shivam Patare and Mohammadreza Shadloui leading the charge.
The Haryana Steelers’ defense, spearheaded by Jaideep and Rahul Sethpal, demonstrated why they are regarded as one of the top defensive units in the league, making it exceedingly difficult for the Patna Pirates to score. However, as the half progressed, Gurdeep and Sudhakar brought the Patna Pirates closer to their opponents.
After Devank and Ayan leveled the score, Shivam Patare and Vinay propelled the Haryana Steelers back into a commanding position, allowing them to expand their lead further. At halftime, the Haryana Steelers were ahead 15-12.
The second half began more slowly than the first, with the Patna Pirates gaining the initial points through Sudhakar. Although the Haryana Steelers managed to keep Devank and Ayan at bay for much of the match, the three-time champions were mounting a comeback.
Nonetheless, the star player Shadloui continued to score critical points, along with Jaideep, keeping the Haryana Steelers firmly in the lead as they sought their historic first title. As the clock approached the half-hour mark, the Haryana Steelers held a narrow three-point advantage, intensifying the competition.
Following this, the Haryana Steelers increased the pressure on their rivals, achieving the first ALL OUT of the match. The star player Shadloui was in top form as the Haryana Steelers surged to a 9-point lead. In the final moments, the Haryana Steelers expertly managed both the game and the clock, effectively shutting down any hopes of a comeback from the Patna Pirates.
At the conclusion of the forty minutes, the Haryana Steelers exited the mat victorious, marking the achievement of their first-ever PKL title.
