The full-back previously played for the Indian Super League (ISL) team Jamshedpur FC, where he achieved notable success, including reaching the ISL Cup semifinal and the Kalinga Super Cup final.
Uvais, who made his move to Jamshedpur FC in 2022, has made a total of 56 appearances for the club over three seasons, contributing four assists and one goal. He has now signed a multi-year deal with the Shers.
The 26-year-old hails from Nilambur, located in the football-loving district of Malappuram, Kerala, and primarily plays as a left back.
