Coimbatore, Aug 1 (NationPress) - Hyderabad’s Rahil Pillarisetty from RACR Castrol Power1 showcased an impressive performance during the qualifying session, achieving pole position in the elite Pro-Stock 301-400cc Open category. This marks the beginning of his journey in the Rolon Round of the MMSC fmsci Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2025, held at the Kari Motor Speedway on Friday.

Other riders who secured pole positions in their respective National Championship categories include: Raj Kumar from Coimbatore, Motul Sparks Racing in Super Stock 165cc Intermediate; Mohamed Mikail from Thiruvallur, Mad Rabbit Racing in Stock 301-400cc (Novice); and Charu Sreekara Kedarnadh from Tirupati, Motul KTM Gusto Racing India in Stock 165cc (Novice).

The 27-year-old Pillarisetty clocked a best lap of one minute, 10.972 seconds, right at the end of the session, edging out Petronas TVS Racing’s young talents, Chiranth Vishwanath from Bengaluru and defending champion Sarthak Chavan from Pune, with less than a second separating the top three.

“I’m thrilled to be back on the Yamaha R3 after racing with KTM for a few seasons. I had a strong lap today, but the competition is tight, and I’m eager for tomorrow’s race,” expressed Pillarisetty, who had made a notable entry into the race in June by winning Race-2 against Sarthak in a nail-biting finish.

Chiranth, at 17 years old, commented, “I faced some challenges with my bike, but Rahil was exceptionally fast. I’m not satisfied with P2 and plan to improve in tomorrow’s race.”

Sarthak, 18, downplayed his P3 qualification, stating, “The pressure will be on Rahil tomorrow. I’ll give it my all in the race.”

In the Idemitsu Honda India Talent Cup (Honda CB300F), Raivat Dhar from Jammu clinched pole position, while in the Petronas TVS India One-Make Championship, Mohan Babu and Jagathishree Kumaresan, both from Chennai, secured pole in their respective categories.
