Chennai, Jan 11 (NationPress) Hyderabad’s Rahil Pillarisetty (RACR Castrol Power1) concluded the season with an impressive double victory, becoming the champion in the elite Pro-Stock 301-400cc Open category on the final day of the MMSC fmsci Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship held at the Madras International Circuit this past Sunday.

PM Soorya from Chennai put an end to a nine-year title drought by securing a remarkable win in the morning race, clinching the championship in the Pro-Stock 200cc Open category before finishing third in the subsequent race. His rival, Savion Sabu from Bengaluru, faced difficulties, retiring in Race-1 and finishing fourth in Race-2.

Other champions included Jagathishree Kumaresan (One Racing) from Chennai, who defended her title in the Girls (Stock 165cc) category, Rajender Beedani (MAI Racing) from Hyderabad who won the Stock 165cc (Novice) title, Raj Kumar (Motul Sparks Racing) from Coimbatore, celebrating his first national title in the SuperSport Intermediate 165cc class, and Varun Patil (Mad Rabbits Racing) from Bengaluru who triumphed in the Stock 301-400cc (Novice) category.

Rahil, who had secured his first championship in eight years with a Race-1 win on Saturday, continued his winning streak today, achieving a total of seven wins and three podium finishes out of ten races.

He faced tough competition from fellow young talents of the Petronas TVS Racing team, including Chiranth Vishwanath (Bengaluru) and Rakshith Dave (Chennai), who claimed second and third respectively, while their teammate Sarthak Chavan from Pune retired after an early race incident.

Jagathishree Kumaresan, a 21-year-old archaeology graduate, successfully defended her National crown in the Girls (Stock 165cc) category, finishing third behind former champion Ann Jennifer (Motul Sparks Racing) and Saimah Ajaz Baig from Pune (KYT Helmet ISKB Racing). The race was shortened to four laps due to an incident on the final lap, but she expressed satisfaction with her performance this season, which included six wins and four podiums.

For Soorya, winning the championship was deeply emotional. “I lost my mother in April, and I wish she could have been here to celebrate this moment. It has been a challenging season, but my consistent performances led me to win my first National title after starting my racing career in 2016. Throughout the season, I had intense battles with Savion Sabu. Despite the age difference, I am physically fit and grateful for this win,” expressed Soorya, a motorcycle engineer.

Similarly, Raj Kumar, who comes from a modest background in Coimbatore, celebrated his first National title after a decade of hard work, finishing the season with four wins and two podiums. “Winning my first National championship feels amazing. It has been a journey filled with struggles for me and my family. I began racing in 2015 but took a break to support my younger brother. After a few years, I returned to racing and faced numerous injuries and challenges, but today I achieved my dream of winning a National title,” he shared.

Bengaluru’s Jagadeesh Nagaraj (Motul Sparks Racing) ended the season with a remarkable double in the Stock 301-400cc (Novice) category, finishing the championship second to fellow-Bengalurean Varun Patil, who secured the title by a narrow margin.

In the Petronas TVS One-Make Championship, Mohan Babu from Chennai sealed the championship in the Open (RR 310) category with a seventh place finish. Hari Haran R from Coimbatore, after a double win this weekend, clinched the Rookie (RTR 200) championship, while Sarthak Chavan maintained his title in the Electric RTE category with four consecutive wins. The final race of the day was unfortunately cancelled due to persistent rain.

In the Idemitsu Honda India Talent Cup (Honda CB 300F), Solomon R from Chennai won the championship with a podium finish in the last race, ending the season with three wins and five podium finishes.
