RCB's Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Celebrate Their Unique Homecoming at Chinnaswamy

Bengaluru, Dec 6 (NationPress) Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who are rejoining the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for a second term after their selection in the IPL 2025 auction, perceive this moment as a heartfelt homecoming rather than merely a professional chance.

Interestingly, both players have previously donned the RCB jersey, yet they have never taken on the bowling duties at Chinnaswamy Stadium during any prior IPL seasons. They are both enthusiastic about changing that narrative and are determined to forge new memories in the cherished cricket haven of Bengaluru.

Bhuvneshwar, who began his IPL journey with RCB back in 2009, is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to wear the RCB colors and assume bowling responsibilities for the Bengaluru franchise for the very first time, seeking to craft unforgettable experiences.

"I'm really pleased to be part of RCB; this is where my career started in 2009. I extend my gratitude to the RCB management for considering me, and a huge shout out to the RCB fans for their unwavering support. I’m looking forward to an exceptional season," stated Bhuvneshwar.

Chinnaswamy Stadium has evolved over the years into more than just a cricket venue; it stands as the vibrant heart of Bengaluru—a representation of passion, pride, and steadfast support from fans who transform every match into a celebration, instilling a fearless spirit amongst players as they take the field.

Reinforcing these feelings, former RCB legend Chris Gayle reminisced about the enchanting atmosphere of Chinnaswamy and the deep connection he formed with the fans. In a video for the RCB Bold Diary, Gayle expressed, "The fans, the roar, the chants—it’s absolutely fantastic, giving me goosebumps. The ambiance was always incredible—win or lose; we stood united. It’s one of the finest venues I’ve ever played at."

For Hazlewood, his earlier stint with RCB took place during the pandemic, when games were not held in Bengaluru. Nevertheless, he left a remarkable mark, securing 23 wickets in 15 matches with an economy rate of 8.26.

Reflecting on his comeback, Hazlewood shared, "I’m thrilled to be back with RCB this year. We have the most incredible fans in the competition; every match feels like a home game for me. I can’t wait. A big thank you to the management for bringing me back this season."

Playing at Chinnaswamy entails navigating high-scoring encounters on a pitch that presents challenges to bowlers. Yet, Bhuvneshwar has excelled here as well, claiming 9 wickets in 9 matches at an impressive economy of 8.25. Coupled with Hazlewood’s accuracy, Chinnaswamy is in for an extraordinary experience.
