Now, the young talent, who has gained international experience, is excited about the prospect of scoring against the elite pacer. Bumrah is currently rehabilitating at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru due to a lower back injury.
Bumrah missed India's victorious Champions Trophy campaign in Dubai, but he is anticipated to return during the IPL. The match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians is slated for April 17 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
"I would be grateful for the challenge. He is one of the best bowlers globally, and facing him would be an exhilarating match-up. If I manage to score some runs against him, I would be very pleased. Competing against top bowlers like Bumrah is what makes the game thrilling," Reddy expressed on JioHotstar's show Gen Bold.
He further stated, "This generation of Indian cricket has been influenced by legends like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and others. They have elevated Indian cricket, and we aspire to continue their legacy. Players like Jasprit, Rohit, and Virat are invaluable assets to Indian cricket."
When asked which skills he would like to adopt from MS Dhoni, Kohli, and Rohit, Reddy replied, "From Dhoni, I would like to acquire his captaincy skills. From Kohli, I admire his passion and aggression for the game. And from Rohit, I aspire to master his pull shot—it's simply outstanding."
When inquired about a bowler he would relish battling against, the right-handed batter responded, "I would love to face Abhishek Sharma. We have intense contests in the nets, constantly pushing each other. I aim to maintain that competitive spirit in matches as well."
