Sai Sudharsan Expresses Gratitude to BCCI and Gujarat Titans Post-Surgery

New Delhi, Dec 10 (NationPress) India's emerging cricketer Sai Sudharsan conveyed his thanks to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and his IPL team, Gujarat Titans, after undergoing a successful surgical procedure.

Sudharsan was appointed as Tamil Nadu's vice-captain for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and made his last appearance in their Group B match against Tripura in Indore. Tamil Nadu secured victory in this match by 43 runs, where he managed to score nine runs off nine deliveries.

Unfortunately, the Gujarat Titans batter had to withdraw from the remainder of the tournament due to an injury, marking this game as his final outing. Tamil Nadu could not progress past the group stages, finishing in fifth place in Group B.

“I will return stronger in no time. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the medical team and BCCI for their unwavering support. Thank you to the Titans family for your love and encouragement,” Sudharsan shared on X (formerly Twitter).

Prior to his surgery, Sudharsan had been making headlines with the India A team during their series against Australia A. Batting at the No. 3 position, the 23-year-old displayed his skills with an impressive century in the series opener.

His composed innings of 103 runs highlighted his potential for a long-term role in India's senior squad. However, the selectors ultimately chose Devdutt Padikkal for the No. 3 position in the senior team's inaugural Test at Optus Stadium in Perth.

Even though India A faced a 0-2 defeat in the series, Sudharsan's performance was notable. He accumulated 127 runs at an average of 31.75, solidifying his reputation as a future star.

Sudharsan has already played for India in three ODIs and one T20I. In his ODI debut series against South Africa last December, he impressed with consecutive half-centuries, finishing with an average of 63.50.

In the lead-up to the IPL 2025 auction last month, Gujarat Titans retained Sudharsan for Rs 8.5 crore.
