Hyderabad, April 6 (NationPress) Gujarat Titans bowler Mohammed Siraj achieved remarkable figures of 4-17, effectively limiting Sunrisers Hyderabad to a total of 152/8 in their 20 overs during the IPL 2025 match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday.

Opting to bat first, Travis Head hit two consecutive boundaries off Siraj before the bowler dismissed him on the last ball of the opening over.

Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma faced difficulty in scoring quickly during the powerplay, accumulating only 29 runs for the second wicket before Siraj sent Sharma back to the pavilion in the fifth over.

After the early loss of both openers, Hyderabad ended the powerplay at 45/2, marking their second-lowest total in nine innings since 2024.

Despite spending some time at the crease, Kishan failed to build on his start, getting out for 17 as he was dismissed by Prasidh Krishna in the eighth over.

However, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen provided some stability to Hyderabad's faltering innings, effectively rotating the strike against Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore during the middle overs.

The pair forged a 50-run partnership for the fourth wicket before Kishore took both wickets in successive overs. Klaasen scored 27 with a six and two fours, while Nitish tallied 31 off 34 balls.

Hyderabad's hopes for a late surge dwindled when Krishna dismissed Kamindu Mendis (1) after a brief stay at the crease, leaving the team at 120/6 after 17 overs.

In the following over, Siraj demonstrated exceptional death bowling capabilities, claiming the wickets of Aniket Verma (18) and Simarjeet Singh (0) to complete his four-wicket haul. He concluded with outstanding figures of 4-17, marking his best bowling performance in IPL history.

Pat Cummins (22 not out) managed to hit a four and a six, while Mohammed Shami complemented him with a boundary in Ishant Sharma's final over, elevating their total to 152/8.

Alongside Siraj, Rashid and Krishna also took two wickets each while maintaining economical bowling figures.
