Bengaluru, April 26 (NationPress) Among the nearly 35,000 participants set to participate in the World 10K Bengaluru is Member of Parliament (MP) Tejasvi Surya, who is enthusiastic about testing his limits in this esteemed World Athletics Gold Label race.

When asked about his reasons for joining despite a hectic schedule, Tejasvi remarked, “There are numerous individuals in these endurance events with lives that are far more demanding than mine. I've seen women juggling family responsibilities, including newborns, who have just recovered from pregnancy, manage those hurdles and still find time to run.”

“I've witnessed people overcoming serious health challenges, including cancer survivors, even when doctors have advised them otherwise; they persevered. Their resilience encourages us to view life with optimism,” he noted.

The 34-year-old BJP representative attributes his newfound passion for endurance competitions to a friend's motivation to join a triathlon in Goa last year. He realized that exercise offers the greatest rush of dopamine. “It's a remarkable stress reliever, a shortcut to happiness in the healthiest way, and a unique method to gain a fresh outlook on life.”

He elaborated, “This is a celebration of existence. Such activities can only be enjoyed when you’re alive. Swimming and running push you beyond your limits. The beauty of physical fitness lies in the fact that it’s a personal journey; you cannot delegate it to anyone else. If you invest effort, the rewards will follow.”

When discussing the insights he applies to his public role, he stated, “Nothing is easily achieved, and nothing is quick. You must diligently work towards your goals with persistence. In recent years, our generation has sought instant gratification, largely due to social media. However, that doesn't apply to fitness. If you aim to run 10K, you cannot expect to achieve it overnight; you need to train.”

Over time, the TCS World 10K has become a key aspect of life in Bengaluru, fostering a running culture and creating opportunities for residents to embrace a healthy lifestyle.

“I am genuinely excited about completing the race with a commendable time. For many participants, this 10K will mark their first running experience. I encourage everyone to come and enjoy this event, taking their initial steps towards a healthier lifestyle and contributing to a healthier community. Best wishes to all for the run,” Tejasvi concluded.

The race will be broadcast live on Sony Sports1 and Sony Sports1 HD on Sunday starting at 5:15 am.
