Bagdogra, April 14 (NationPress) With the much-awaited West Bengal elections approaching, BJP MP Tejasvi Surya conveyed his strong belief that the Trinamool Congress will face significant defeat in the state this time.
Addressing reporters, Tejasvi Surya remarked, “I have arrived in Siliguri today and engaged with the members of the BJP Yuva Morcha. The current atmosphere in West Bengal instills confidence in me that the Trinamool Congress will be eliminated, particularly in North Bengal, where a robust BJP wave can be anticipated. The youth are eager for a transformation.”
He also emphasized that the Women’s Reservation Bill is poised to be one of the landmark legislative reforms of the 21st century.
“The Women’s Reservation Bill is set to be one of the most pivotal legislative reforms of the 21st century. It will amplify the voices of millions of Indian women — the daughters of India — who are already making strides in various sectors, by ensuring they have enhanced representation and meaningful involvement in lawmaking and policymaking,” he stated.
Tejasvi Surya further mentioned that the Bill will bolster the democratic ethos of India.
“It will enhance the democratic ethos of India, elevate the quality of our discussions, and provide a fresh impetus to the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’,” he added.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi penned a letter to India’s Nari Shakti, underscoring the increasing support for women’s reservation in legislative assemblies and reaffirming the government’s dedication to advancing this long-overdue reform.
In a post on the social media platform X, PM Modi stated, "Women across India are welcoming the initiative to ensure reservation for women in legislative bodies. Here is my letter to India’s Nari Shakti, reiterating our commitment to fulfilling what has been pending for decades."
Beginning his letter with a traditional greeting, 'Namaskar,' the Prime Minister acknowledged the historical significance of April 14, which commemorates the birth anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar. He honored Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions to nation-building and his dedication to the constitutional principles that continue to shape India’s democratic progress.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister pointed out that Parliament is set to reconvene on April 16 to debate a significant constitutional amendment related to the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam.
"In two days, on the 16th, Parliament will reconvene to discuss and hopefully approve an essential constitutional amendment concerning the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. I am observing immense enthusiasm surrounding this. Women nationwide are expressing their joy at the prospect of gaining a stronger role in constructing a Viksit Bharat," PM Modi remarked.
