Hyderabad, March 9 (NationPress) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy emphasized the need to develop top-tier infrastructure at the forthcoming Young India Sports University. He also highlighted the importance of upgrading essential stadiums to nurture Olympic-caliber athletes from the region.
During a review meeting with the Department of Sports officials, the Chief Minister stressed the necessity of providing international-standard facilities at the Young India Sports University while enhancing grounds for various sports disciplines.
As per the Chief Minister's Office, he urged officials to ensure that the Sports University is fully equipped with all necessary facilities for athlete training, focusing on Olympic success. He additionally called for the renovation of the Gachibowli Outdoor Stadium and the establishment of an indoor stadium, university complex, hostel accommodations, and multiple sports grounds within the stadium.
The Chief Minister also reviewed architectural designs related to the planned projects and provided insights to the officials.
He instructed officials to formulate plans to position Telangana as a potential host for significant events, such as the Olympics and Commonwealth Games, while also enhancing the performance of Telangana athletes on the Olympic stage.
