Ranchi, Nov 29 (NationPress) - Temba Bavuma, the captain of South Africa, expressed his enthusiasm about experiencing a unique energy on the pitch during the ODI series opener, set to take place at the JSCA International Stadium this Sunday, with Indian icons Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in attendance.

With both players returning to the game after their recent ODI series against Australia in October, there has been considerable discussion regarding whether this veteran pairing can maintain their form and fitness leading up to the 50-over World Cup in two years.

The immediate focus, however, is on how Rohit and Kohli perform against Bavuma's South African team in Ranchi, Raipur, and Visakhapatnam. “It’s quite thrilling, right? The locals are excited to see two living legends back on Indian soil for this series,” Bavuma stated.

“We are eagerly anticipating this different type of energy that these two great players bring. It will be a memorable experience,” he added in a video shared by Star Sports on their Instagram.

In response to how South Africa plans to counter the experienced batting duo, Bavuma commented, “As with any players, we will strategize around them and develop our tactics. We recognize that the energy will be distinct, but it’s an exhilarating challenge.”

“From my perspective as a captain, my approach remains largely unchanged. Leading with the bat and guiding my teammates tactically on the field is my priority. So, not much really alters,” he concluded.
