Tim Southee to Lead Sharjah Warriorz in ILT20 Season 3

Sharjah, Dec 26 (NationPress) The Sharjah Warriorz have made a significant announcement regarding their squad for the upcoming edition of the ILT20, featuring the inclusion of Tim Southee, one of the premier fast bowlers in modern cricket from New Zealand. With an impressive record of participating in 4 ODI World Cups and 6 T20 World Cups, Southee is poised to take the helm as captain of the Sharjah Warriorz for his first time in this tournament.
Southee has taken on the role of captain for the New Zealand men’s cricket team across various formats throughout his career. At 36 years old, he boasts a rich experience of 10 seasons in the IPL, having represented teams such as the Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, in addition to showcasing his skills in The Hundred and the Vitality Blast in the UK.
Commencing his international career at just 19, Southee made his T20I debut before eventually playing in ODIs and Tests. His first international wicket in T20I cricket was that of Paul Collingwood during a match against England. To date, he has participated in 126 T20Is, claiming 164 wickets with an economy rate of 8, with his best bowling figures standing at 5/18.
The Sharjah Warriorz are confident that Southee’s wealth of experience and understanding of the game will enhance their performance in the forthcoming ILT20 season. The third season of the ILT20 is scheduled to kick off on January 11, with the Sharjah Warriorz playing their opening match against the Gujarat Giants on January 12.
