Jakarta, June 4 (NationPress) - Commonwealth Games medallist Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Pullela emerged victorious against Ukraine's Polina Buhrova and Yevheniia Kantemyr in the second round of the women's doubles event during the Indonesia Open BWF Super 1000 tournament held here on Wednesday.
The Indian duo showcased their skills by defeating the Ukrainian pair with a score of 21-14, 22-20 in a tightly contested match that lasted 32 minutes at Court 2 of the Istora Senayan Stadium.
They will be joined in the competition by the mixed doubles team of Sathish Kumar Karunakaran and Aadya Variyath, who bounced back after an initial loss to win their match with scores of 15-21, 21-16, 21-17 in 45 minutes on Court 3.
Sadly, two other Indian mixed doubles pairs faced elimination. Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto battled hard against the second seeds Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei from Malaysia, but ultimately lost after three games with scores of 11-21, 21-16, 14-21 in 59 minutes.
