Hamburg, June 30 (NationPress) The Indian duo of Vani Kapoor and Diksha Dagar delivered impressive performances by securing spots in the Top-10 at the Amundi German Masters on the Ladies European Tour.
Vani, participating in her third tournament this season, achieved a Tied-sixth finish, while Diksha claimed T-8, with Shannon Tan from Singapore taking home the championship title. Another Indian player, Avani Prashanth, finished T-26.
After a challenging third round, Vani made a strong comeback, scoring 2-under 71 in the final round under windy conditions at the North Course of Green Eagle Golf Courses. This performance marked her first Top-10 finish since October 2022, when she placed T-8 at the Women’s Indian Open.
With four victories on her home tour, the WPGT, this year, Vani's rounds of 72-70-76-71 totaled 3-under for the week.
Shannon Tan, who led the event with a score of 12-under-par, secured her second LET title with a par putt on the last hole for a one-shot victory after a thrilling final day.
Vani emerged as the top Indian performer this week. Diksha Dagar, who was competitive during the first two rounds with scores of 69-73, finished with rounds of 74-74 to end Tied-eighth. This marked her fifth Top-10 finish, along with two additional Top-15 placements, placing her back in the Top-10 of the Order of Merit.
Avani Prashanth, the third Indian to advance past the cut, recorded an even-par round with one birdie and one bogey to finish T-26 with a total of 2-over. Her rounds included 73-74-74-73.
Shannon Tan started strong with eight pars before suffering back-to-back bogeys on the ninth and tenth holes but regained momentum with a birdie on the 11th, extending her lead over Germany’s Helen Briem.
However, bogeys on the 13th and 17th holes tightened the competition, reducing her lead to just one stroke as Briem held the clubhouse lead at eight-under-par.
After reaching the 18th green, the 21-year-old Tan's birdie putt went a few feet past the hole, but she successfully converted her par putt to secure her second LET title with a score of nine-under-par.
Germany’s Briem finished with a round of 73 (E), achieving outright second place at eight-under-par in Hamburg.
New Zealand’s Amelia Garvey recorded a round of 72 (-1) to finish third at seven-under-par, marking her third top-10 finish in four weeks, equaling her best result of third place at the Hulencourt Women’s Open.
South Africa’s Lee-Anne Pace and Ireland’s Anna Foster shared the fourth position at four-under-par alongside India’s Vani Kapoor and Czechia’s Tereza Melecka in T-6. One shot further back, in a tie for eighth place, were India’s Diksha Dagar and Germany’s Carolin Kauffmann, completing a competitive top 10.
