Gurugram, March 5 (NationPress) Vani Kapoor experienced two late bogeys but kept her composure to secure a birdie on the final hole, ultimately taking the solo lead after the opening day of the fifth leg of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour (WPGT) at the Classic Golf & Country Club here on Wednesday. Vani, who clinched victory in the fourth leg last month, finished with a score of 2-under 70, leading by a single shot over her close friend Amandeep Drall (71).
Both Vani and Amandeep were the only competitors to score under par on a notably windy day, which posed challenges for scoring. Rhea Jha held the third position after landing an eagle on the Par-4 eighth but recorded five bogeys along with one birdie, finishing with a score of 74. She had previously won the fifth leg of the 2020 Women’s Pro Golf Tour.
Despite the difficult conditions, five players found themselves tied for fourth place, each carding a score of 4-over 76.
