WPL 2025: Shreyanka Patil Still Coming to Terms with RCB's Title Defense

New Delhi, Dec 18 (NationPress) The title of defending champion feels quite fitting for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru women's team as they prepare to defend their crown in the forthcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025. However, for Indian cricketer Shreyanka Patil, it remains a dreamlike reality, as the realization that she belongs to the defending champions has not fully settled in.

She expressed her thoughts, stating, "I'm still coming to terms with this feeling, and I eagerly anticipate representing RCB. Carrying the label of defending champions is significant for us, and it will probably hit me when the season camp kicks off, at which point I'll think, 'Alright, I’m ready for the next challenge.' This entire journey has been surreal for all of us—fans from Karnataka and RCB supporters alike," Shreyanka shared on Wednesday.

Shreyanka reflected on how life has shifted since RCB clinched the title last year, receiving a grand homecoming. Upon their return after the victory, the atmosphere was filled with festivity as people from across Karnataka rejoiced in their achievement.

"Life has undoubtedly transformed following our triumph. Traveling from Delhi back home, the enthusiastic cheers from RCB fans and their overwhelming affection was an experience unlike any other. When I got home after our win, there were roughly 100 supporters gathered outside my house, celebrating and creating a festive uproar. That day was incredibly special for me as people from all corners of Karnataka came together to celebrate," Shreyanka reminisced.

Shreyanka acknowledged that the love and support from her fans elevate her performance. "As an individual, the encouragement from fans means everything to me. I genuinely enjoy connecting with them because it feels like they are part of my extended family. Their affection and support inspire me to perform at my best, and I truly treasure those moments of interaction," she stated.

RCB secured their first title in the WPL by defeating the Delhi Capitals Women in the final. They aim to replicate their success when the 2025 edition unfolds in Bengaluru and New Delhi.
