This year’s celebration will take place nationwide on September 23.
During a press conference held in Goa, the Ministry emphasized the importance of ayurveda, its contributions to holistic health, and the special events organized to commemorate this milestone.
The theme for this year, “Ayurveda for People, Ayurveda for Planet,” emphasizes personal health, global well-being, ecological sustainability, and development, according to Professor (Vaidya) Pradeep Kumar Prajapati, Director of the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa.
“The 10th Ayurveda Day provides a chance to bring Ayurveda to each individual and reaffirm its significance in global health,” he stated.
Professor Prajapati also encouraged citizens, healthcare professionals, researchers, students, and policymakers to engage in this national initiative.
Describing it as a movement of the people, he stressed the need to combine Ayurveda’s ancient wisdom with modern research, bringing it to the forefront of global healthcare.
“Ayurveda Day marks a decade-long journey of health, balance, and international recognition,” mentioned Prof. (Dr.) Sujata Kadam, Dean of AIIA Goa, while emphasizing Ayurveda’s role as a connector between tradition and science, individuals and society, as well as humanity and nature.
She also noted the contributions of AIIA Goa, which operates as a 250-bed hospital offering 22 OPD services daily, aiding more than 800 patients, including international visitors, and establishing itself as a premier center for education, research, and patient care.
Founded in 2022 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the AIIA Goa serves as a leading institution for Ayurvedic education, research, and healthcare. This year, it has been appointed as the nodal agency for the national celebrations of the 10th Ayurveda Day.
Since its inception, the institute has achieved significant advancements in patient care and medical facilities, while also promoting medical value travel and health tourism.
