New Delhi, Sep 19 (NationPress) Ayurveda presents a sustainable healthcare approach that benefits both individuals and the ecosystem, stated Prataprao Jadhav, the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush, on Friday.
During the launch event for Ayurveda Day 2025 at the National Media Centre (NMC), organized by the Ministry of Ayush, Jadhav underscored significant initiatives set for the 10th edition of Ayurveda Day, which will occur on September 23 at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa.
The Minister emphasized Ayurveda's potential as a holistic, evidence-based, and environmentally friendly healthcare system.
“Ayurveda transcends medical science; it embodies a lifestyle that aligns individuals with their surroundings,” Jadhav remarked.
Referencing the first all-India NSSO survey on Ayush, the MoS highlighted Ayurveda’s broad acceptance in both rural and urban settings, where it stands as the most utilized treatment system.
Jadhav announced a landmark decision to designate September 23 as the official annual date for Ayurveda Day, thus granting it a universal calendar recognition.
The theme for this year is Ayurveda for People & Planet.
This theme “demonstrates India’s dedication to promoting Ayurveda as a sustainable, integrative approach for global health and ecological well-being,” Jadhav stated.
The Minister also revealed a range of community-focused initiatives by the Ministry of Ayush to celebrate Ayurveda Day 2025.
These initiatives encompass awareness campaigns such as “Little Steps to Wellness” for students, “Lead the Mislead” to combat misleading advertisements, and “Ayurveda Aahara for Obesity,” alongside programs on Ayurveda for plant and veterinary health.
Reflecting on the history of Ayurveda Day since its launch in 2016, Jadhav noted that the 2024 edition attracted participation from over 150 countries.
He further shared that investments totaling Rs 12,850 crore have bolstered Ayurveda’s position in holistic healthcare within the nation.
