Hyderabad, Nov 3 (NationPress) Tragically, 15 individuals lost their lives and numerous others sustained injuries in a catastrophic accident involving an RTC bus and a truck in Telangana’s Rangareddy district on Monday.

The collision transpired on the Hyderabad-Bijapur highway close to Mirzaguda in the Chevella mandal at around 6:30 a.m.

The bus, which was en route to Hyderabad from Tandur, was struck by a concrete-laden truck heading in the opposite direction.

Eyewitness accounts reveal that several passengers were trapped under the concrete debris that fell onto the bus during the impact.

In total, thirteen bus passengers perished in the accident, including the drivers of both the bus and the truck.

The bus, operated by the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC), was reportedly transporting 70 individuals.

Many passengers were injured and were transported to the Chevella government hospital, where three of them are in critical condition.

Heartbreaking scenes unfolded as the injured, trapped beneath rubble, cried out for assistance. Police and local residents collaborated to rescue the injured.

Three JCBs were deployed to aid in the extraction of those affected.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed his sorrow regarding the accident and instructed officials to promptly attend to the site and initiate relief efforts.

Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has also called for immediate relief measures and the best medical attention for the injured.

This incident marks the second significant road accident in the Telugu states within a span of just ten days.

Earlier, on October 24, twenty individuals were killed when a private bus ignited after hitting a motorcycle left on the road following an accident near Kurnool town in Andhra Pradesh. The bus was traveling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru.
