Kabul, July 24 (NationPress) Authorities have uncovered approximately 200 pieces of both light and heavy weaponry in the eastern region of Paktia province, as reported by the state-run Radio and Television of Afghanistan (RTA) on Thursday.
The recovered arsenal, according to the state-owned media, comprises 97 Kalashnikov rifles, seven M16 assault rifles, 86 various pistols, seven rocket launchers, and a multitude of other arms and munitions.
While further details were not disclosed, the official media outlet noted that police emphasized the illegality of possessing or carrying arms without authorization.
In related operations, police also reported the recovery of arms and ammunition, including an anti-aircraft gun, from Afghanistan's northern Samangan province.
