Key Takeaways
Guwahati, April 3 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, launched a vehement critique against the Congress and AIUDF during his campaign for NDA candidate Deepak Kumar Das in Barpeta, Assam, asserting that the BJP-led coalition will prevent the state from becoming a center for 'love jihad' or 'land jihad'.
In his address at a public rally, Adityanath accused the Congress of having 'abandoned the electoral battlefield' and claimed it was time to politically marginalize the AIUDF.
He charged both parties with facilitating illegal immigration and attempting to alter Assam's demographic landscape for electoral advantages.
"The NDA is dedicated to ensuring that Assam remains free from infiltration. Every infiltrator will be identified and removed. We will thwart any conspiracy aimed at changing the state's demographic composition," asserted the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
He highlighted that the 'double-engine government'—with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the helm at the Centre and Himanta Biswa Sarma in Assam—focuses on preserving Assam's cultural identity while promoting development.
Adityanath also conveyed his best wishes for Rongali Bihu and commended Assam's rich cultural and spiritual heritage, referencing iconic sites such as the Kamakya Temple and Kaziranga National Park.
He paid homage to the legacy of Srimanta Sankardeva, Madhavdeva, and Lachit Borphukan, acknowledging them as emblems of unity, faith, and bravery.
In a jab at the Congress, Adityanath claimed the party has historically shown disregard for India's heritage, reserving prestigious awards like the Bharat Ratna for a singular political family.
He pointed out that cultural figure Bhupen Hazarika was only awarded the Bharat Ratna in 2019 under Modi's NDA government.
Discussing developmental strides, Adityanath noted that the Northeast has experienced significant infrastructure advancements recently, including the expansion of roads, railways, airports, and educational facilities such as AIIMS, IITs, and IIMs.
Comparing this to Uttar Pradesh, he claimed the state is now 'riot-free and curfew-free' under BJP governance, attributing this to stringent law enforcement and governance reforms.
He urged the electorate to back the NDA to guarantee ongoing development, security, and the conservation of Assam's cultural legacy.
