Yogi Adityanath: BJP Protects Assam, Congress Enables Infiltration
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Guwahati, April 3 (NationPress) During a campaign event in Assam, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticized the prior Congress administration for allegedly enabling infiltration and commended the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for effectively removing such elements.
Speaking at his second rally in the Barchalla Assembly area, Adityanath stated: “The Congress party has consistently supported infiltration and incited riots, while the BJP actively eliminates these issues. In the past, infiltrators undermined the rights of youth and misappropriated rations intended for the people of Assam; however, the double-engine government now ensures that every resident receives their entitlements.”
He urged attendees to support BJP candidate Ritu Baran Sarma in the Barchalla constituency and encouraged them to vote for the ‘Kamal’ (lotus) symbol on April 9 for a resounding victory.
Adityanath continued, “Despite Assam’s rich cultural heritage and its history of defending farmers and opposing foreign invasions, the Congress party, in collaboration with the AIUDF, has created an identity crisis for the local populace. Their covert agreements have posed a significant threat to the Assamese identity, land, and dignity.”
“Under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and successive BJP administrations in Assam led by Sarbananda Sonowal and Himanta Biswa Sarma, the state has transformed from a producer of tea to becoming a new center for chip manufacturing,” he informed the audience.
He highlighted significant projects like the Maa Kamakhya Corridor and the Srimanta Sankaradeva Corridor, asserting that the double-engine government is committed to preserving Assam’s identity while championing its culture, traditions, and heroes, achieving a balance between development and heritage.
Adityanath noted, “In the last ten years, government initiatives have reached the economically disadvantaged without bias. Previously, infiltrators consumed rations meant for the poor, but now citizens benefit from programs like free rations, the Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat (providing health coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh), housing assistance, and job opportunities. Special packages have also been allocated for tea garden workers, artisans, and youth.”
“The double-engine government remains dedicated to safeguarding Assam and expelling every infiltrator,” he asserted.
He remarked that no Prime Minister has visited the Northeast as often as Modi and emphasized that, due to consistent efforts, connectivity in the region has seen substantial improvements through roads, railways, airways, and inland waterways, along with the establishment of institutions like AIIMS, IIMs, IITs, and NITs.
Adityanath invoked historical figures like Lachit Borphukan and the Ahom dynasty, affirming that Assam will continue to play a vital role in enhancing India’s national identity and pride.
