In a related announcement, the Ministry of Civil Aviation revealed that Indian airlines will operate 58 flights between India and the Gulf region to assist stranded passengers in West Asia due to the current conflict. This includes 30 flights by IndiGo and 23 flights from Air India and Air India Express.
The ministry is actively monitoring the developing airspace conditions in parts of West Asia and their effects on international flight operations. To date, 1,221 flights operated by Indian carriers and 388 flights from foreign carriers have been canceled due to the situation. Indian airlines are making precise adjustments to their schedules, progressively resuming long-haul and ultra-long-haul operations using alternative routes that avoid restricted airspace.
The ministry also stated that it is in constant communication with airlines to monitor airfares and prevent any unreasonable increases during this time. All airlines have been instructed to maintain transparent communication with passengers regarding refunds, rescheduling, and assistance. Travelers should verify the latest flight status directly with their airlines prior to arriving at the airport and rely solely on official sources for updates.
