New Delhi, March 8 (NationPress) Domestic airlines are preparing to launch a series of additional non-scheduled flights from the Gulf region this Sunday, pending the necessary approvals from both Indian and local authorities due to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

In light of persistent airspace restrictions affecting various areas in West Asia, these airlines are set to operate extra non-scheduled flights on March 8.

According to a statement from the airline, “Air India will introduce additional flights between Delhi, Mumbai, and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Additionally, Air India Express will undertake 30 extra flights connecting Indian cities with destinations in the UAE, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, and Sharjah.”

On March 8, plans are in place for additional non-scheduled flights to and from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Muscat, Ras Al-Khaimah, and Sharjah to assist in returning stranded passengers to India.

“Given the fluid situation in West Asia, flight schedules may be modified with little notice. We advise checking your flight status on our website prior to departure. Flight updates will also be shared through your registered contact numbers. For further details, please reach out to our 24×7 Contact Centre,” Air India mentioned in a post on X.

Air India's operations to Europe and North America continue to run smoothly through secure alternative routes.

IndiGo also noted that as the circumstances in the Middle East fluctuate, “we recognize that numerous customers are still eager to connect with their loved ones.”

On March 8, “we are excited to resume our operations to Europe, helping to reconnect our customers with vital destinations throughout the region,” the airline stated.

IndiGo will maintain flights to eight destinations within the Middle East.

“Due to the ever-changing nature of the situation, flight schedules may be subject to change at a moment's notice,” they cautioned, adding, “we will continue to provide updates via our website and social media channels as the situation progresses.”
