Mumbai, March 4 (NationPress) Indian airlines are set to conduct a total of 58 flights on Wednesday to assist in the repatriation of passengers stranded in the Middle East. This move comes as most regional airspace remains either closed or significantly restricted amid escalating tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
According to the Civil Aviation Ministry, the airlines are planning these 58 flights on March 4, comprising 30 by IndiGo and 23 by Air India and Air India Express. Additionally, foreign carriers operating between India and the Gulf region are also engaging in limited operations, contingent on airspace and operational conditions.
The airlines have made tactical adjustments to their schedules, progressively resuming long-haul and ultra long-haul flights through alternate routes that circumvent restricted airspace, the ministry noted.
