New Delhi, Aug 30 (NationPress) The 'Voter Adhikar Yatra', spearheaded by Congress MP and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, marked its 14th day in Bihar on Saturday, showcasing a tremendous display of Opposition solidarity with the inclusion of Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, and Vikassheel Insaan Party chief Mukesh Sahani.
The yatra, aimed at enhancing public consciousness regarding alleged 'vote theft' and safeguarding democratic rights, has transformed into a symbolic platform for the INDIA Bloc’s campaign against the BJP-led NDA government and the Election Commission of India's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Bihar voters' list.
The Congress party took to social media platform X to commend Akhilesh Yadav's participation, describing it as a significant enhancement to the movement.
"The ongoing 'Voter Adhikar Yatra', initiated to protect citizens' rights, has sparked a revolution. Today, Samajwadi Party President Shri @yadavakhilesh joined the 'Voter Rights Journey' and voiced his opposition to 'vote theft'. Long live democracy," the Congress tweeted.
Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal also received Akhilesh Yadav warmly into the yatra, conveying a message of solidarity.
“This morning, Ex UP CM Sh. @yadavakhilesh ji joined the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Saran! We welcome him to this historic movement for democracy. He has been a loyal ally in our struggle against the BJP’s assault on our democracy and a powerful advocate for the marginalized in UP and nationwide,” he stated on X.
The day’s march was initially set to commence at Chapraitha village on the Chhapra-Siwan border. However, due to security issues, the starting point was relocated to Aamdahi Dhala on NH-531 in the Ekma Assembly constituency.
The yatra traversed through Ekari, Mane, Beldari, and Daudpur, concluding at the Chapra Municipal Ground, where a public rally took place.
The event saw a large turnout from supporters of the Mahagathbandhan, with all leading Opposition figures addressing the enthusiastic crowd.
