Mumbai, March 17 (NationPress) Renowned actor and musician Alexx O’Nell is preparing to reprise his role in the much-anticipated "Lucifer 2: Empuraan".

The original "Lucifer" saw Robert McCarthy (Alexx) pursuing Khureshi Ab’raam, the head of a formidable global crime organization. In "Empuraan", Alexx returns as the resolute MI6 agent, confronting Ab’raam once again.

Discussing the eagerly awaited sequel, Alexx expressed, “This film is special in numerous ways. Being a part of this epic trilogy alongside icons such as Mohanlal and Prithviraj is a tremendous honor. I’m excited that "Empuraan" delves deeper into my character's journey, and I can't wait for viewers to witness the scale and intensity of our creation. Malayalam cinema has always embraced me warmly, and I am deeply thankful to return.”

Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the main cast of "Empuraan" includes Mohanlal reprising his role as Khureshi-Ab’raam aka Stephen Nedumpally, alongside Prithviraj, Tovino Thomas, and Jerome Flynn of Game of Thrones fame.

While "Lucifer" marked Alexx's initial collaboration with superstar Mohanlal, "Empuraan" will be their first time sharing the screen. Additionally, this film represents Alexx's third collaboration with Prithviraj, following "Lucifer" and "Urumi".

The filming of "Empuraan" took Alexx to Delhi, Ladakh, and Dubai, with extra dialogue recording conducted in Cape Town, South Africa, where he is also actively advancing his music career.

As a passionate motorcyclist, Alexx took advantage of his time in Ladakh by undertaking a solo Royal Enfield Himalayan journey from Leh to Kargil, braving sub-zero October temperatures and snowy mountain passes.

"Empuraan" signifies Alexx’s fifth Malayalam film following "Gangster" and "Manglish" with Mammootty, and "Urumi" alongside Prithviraj and Prabhu Deva.

His upcoming projects also include "Phule", directed by Ananth Mahadevan, co-starring Prateik Gandhi and Petralika Paul in significant roles. "Phule" is set to release on April 11th, 2025.

Moreover, Alexx has "Kesari 2", featuring Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan, and "Devi Choudhurani", opposite Prosenjit Chatterjee, lined up in his schedule.
