Mumbai, June 18 (NationPress) Actor Ali Fazal, who is preparing for the premiere of his upcoming film ‘Metro... In Dino’, has revealed whether the muscle memory from his guitar playing in ‘Give Me Sunshine’ will be beneficial for this new role.
In this Anurag Basu-directed film, Ali portrays a musician and noted that while the song ‘Give Me Sunshine’ from ‘3 Idiots’ had a straightforward chord structure, the tracks created by Pritam for ‘Metro... In Dino’ are significantly more intricate, requiring extensive preparation on his part.
In a conversation with IANS, the actor mentioned, “I had to learn. For specific scenes, I really needed to master the chords because these compositions are quite complex. I thought, ‘You have Pritam da and all these renowned artists. Suddenly, you’re presenting such challenging pieces.’ I said, ‘I can’t.’ But we endeavored to find the best approach.”
He added, “Of course, I believe Anurag Basu has made some cinematic adjustments to ensure I appear well. Typically, actors need to present perfectly, whether it's through guitar playing, singing, or other performances. So, we’ve taken care of that.”
Previously, Ali Fazal expressed his rewarding experience collaborating with director Anurag Basu on ‘Metro... In Dino’. He remarked that both he and Vishal Bhardwaj share similar working methodologies.
Reflecting on his time with Anurag, Ali shared with IANS, “There was a great deal of unspoken communication between us. I’m thrilled that his camera team and entire crew are extensions of his creativity. Everyone understands his rhythm, and I contribute my own. Given that there are four stories, we have limited slots. So, in the midst of a scene, he might suddenly interject with something unique about his style.”
Presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series in collaboration with Anurag Basu Productions Pvt. Ltd., ‘Metro In Dino’ is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu, and Taani Basu.
The film is scheduled to hit theaters on July 4, 2025.
