Amit Shah to Inaugurate BJP Headquarters Foundation in Tripura on December 22

Agartala, Dec 20 (NationPress) Union Home Minister and former BJP national President Amit Shah is set to lay the foundation stone of the state headquarters for the ruling BJP in Tripura on December 22, as reported by a party leader on Friday.

The leader mentioned that Shah will officiate the laying of the foundation for the state Pradesh office (state headquarters) located at Natun Nagar, on the outskirts of Agartala city.

“The planned four-storey structure is designed to include all essential modern amenities, such as an auditorium and small meeting rooms. The current party headquarters in the city is facing significant space constraints,” the party official stated.

He further noted that the BJP began its organizational efforts in 1983, and through persistent work by the party and its affiliated organizations, they succeeded in gaining power in Tripura in March 2018, overthrowing the CPI-M-led Left Front, which had ruled the state for a cumulative total of 35 years during two periods (1978-1988 and 1993-2018).

In its recent initiatives, the BJP in Tripura nearly doubled its membership compared to 2019, boasting a total of 11.91 lakh members.

BJP leader Bhagaban Chandra Das, who oversees the membership initiative in Tripura, stated that out of the 11.91 lakh BJP members, 9.41 lakh registered online, while 2.50 lakh did so offline.

He mentioned that during the previous membership drive in 2019, 6.50 lakh individuals in Tripura registered their membership.

“Thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's people-centric schemes, projects, and welfare initiatives, individuals from diverse backgrounds have willingly enrolled,” Das, a former minister, shared with the media.

He indicated that numerous tribals, individuals from Scheduled Castes, women, farmers, youth, laborers, and service personnel have joined the party in large numbers.

Das, who currently serves as a BJP MLA, mentioned that following member enrollment, elections for 3,349 party booths across Tripura have commenced.

After the completion of the booth-level organizational elections, elections for all 60 Mandals will follow, followed by district-level elections, and ultimately state-level elections, he added.
