During a meeting with State Education Minister P.D. The Governor reviewed the progress and obstacles faced by the education sector in the state, focusing on enhancing the education system to align with the aspirations of Arunachal’s youth and the changing demands of the state.
Reiterating the vision he presented in his Assembly address, the Governor declared that the youth of Arunachal Pradesh are the state’s most valuable asset. He reiterated that the education department must ensure that every child and young person has access to quality education, relevant skill development, and supportive institutions that build confidence and prepare them for a dynamic world.
Referring to the Mission Shikshit Arunachal 2029, which aligns with the National Education Policy 2020, the Governor underscored the necessity for robust monitoring systems to enforce systemic reforms in school education, particularly focusing on foundational literacy and numeracy.
He emphasized the need for well-trained and motivated teachers, residential schooling options when needed, and the implementation of digital-enabled classrooms to tackle geographical challenges.
Lt Gen Parnaik (Retd.) also shared his perspectives on expanding higher education institutions, enhancing scholarship support, and introducing more skill-based professional courses in Arunachal Pradesh to minimize migration and tap into the full potential of the state’s youth.
He asserted that these reforms could transform education into a driving force for inclusive growth, cultural confidence, and a vision of a ‘Viksit Arunachal Pradesh’.
On the same day, the Governor attended the ninth edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ from Lok Bhavan.
He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026 reinforced the idea that examinations are a natural component of learning and should not become a source of anxiety.
The Governor stated that the interactions encouraged students to concentrate on conceptual understanding instead of rote learning, manage their time effectively, and maintain physical and mental well-being through discipline, fitness, and mindfulness.
He urged parents to be understanding and supportive, avoiding undue pressure and comparisons. Additionally, he called upon teachers to act as mentors who inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence.
The Governor noted that the program echoed the principles of the National Education Policy 2020 by promoting an education system that is holistic, enjoyable, and free from stress, nurturing well-rounded and resilient learners. He added that the Prime Minister’s engagement with children from the Northeast Region was a significant highlight.
