Itanagar, April 13 (NationPress) The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt Gen K.T. Parnaik (Retd), emphasized on Monday that educated, disciplined, motivated, and articulate youth are crucial for fostering a progressive society.

During the youth engagement event titled Let’s Speak Arunachal, held at Lok Bhavan in Itanagar, he underscored the necessity of equipping young individuals with confidence, discipline, and effective communication skills.

He remarked that these traits are vital in molding responsible citizens and the future leaders of our nation.

The event, organized by the NGO Let’s Speak Arunachal in partnership with the Governor’s Secretariat, aimed to encourage students to conquer their hesitations and express themselves with clarity and confidence.

Praising the initiative, Lt Gen Parnaik acknowledged Let’s Speak Arunachal for its efforts in conducting workshops throughout the state, thereby promoting a culture of civic awareness and effective communication among the youth.

Reiterating his perspective, he mentioned that when young people are well-educated, disciplined, motivated, and capable of expressing their thoughts, they become the foundation of a progressive society.

Drawing from his own experiences, the Governor urged educators and parents to actively assist children in enhancing their public speaking abilities.

He stressed that persistent practice, proper guidance, and encouragement from home and educational institutions can greatly improve a child's communication skills.

He also highlighted the significance of proficiency in English, referring to it as an essential tool for improved career opportunities and meaningful interactions in today’s globalized society.

Reaffirming his dedication to youth development, Lt Gen Parnaik announced that the Governor’s Secretariat will host a Debate Declamation competition at Lok Bhavan.

This initiative aims to offer students a platform to refine their speaking skills and build self-confidence.

Moreover, he suggested that such events should be held regularly in schools and colleges.

During the programme, the Governor recognized exceptional students and individuals who have significantly contributed to enhancing public speaking through Let’s Speak Arunachal.

The occasion also included an open forum where students shared their experiences, illustrating how such initiatives have enabled them to overcome stage fright and gain confidence in their expression.

Adding energy to the event, students from Gyan Mission performed a motivational cultural presentation.
