Itanagar, Feb 26 (NationPress) The Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Chowna Mein, reiterated the government's unwavering dedication to the development of border areas, emphasizing a targeted policy approach towards the state's remote and frontier regions.

During the 48th Nyokum Yullo celebrations held at Tali in Kra Daadi district, the Deputy Chief Minister expressed optimism that strategic investments in infrastructure, agriculture, and livelihood generation would promote reverse migration, allowing individuals to return to their ancestral villages with dignity and economic stability.

Participating in the Nyishi community's significant festival, Mein offered heartfelt greetings and wishes for peace, prosperity, abundant harvests, and communal harmony.

He described Nyokum Yullo not merely as a festival, but as a profound representation of the Nyishi community's spiritual connection to nature, collective unity, and ancestral beliefs.

Mein commended the community for its unwavering commitment to maintaining traditional rituals, attire, and indigenous knowledge systems.

He pointed out that in an age of swift modernisation, it is vital to preserve cultural identity while welcoming development to protect Arunachal Pradesh's rich and diverse heritage.

Highlighting the progress in the Tali-Pipsorang area, Mein noted that agriculture remains the backbone of the local economy.

The cultivation of Large Cardamom stands as the primary cash crop sustaining rural livelihoods, while orange cultivation and other horticultural endeavors are steadily growing.

He emphasized the vast potential of horticulture in the region, stating that increased production, value addition, and better market access could create sustainable income opportunities and further bolster the rural economy.

On the topic of connectivity, Mein revealed that six roads are being developed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, alongside four roads under the Vibrant Villages Programme, aimed at ensuring all-weather access to remote and border areas.

He added that initiatives under the Central Road Fund and the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund are also advancing steadily.

The Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Road Scheme, which includes the proposed Tali Ring Road, is expected to facilitate township expansion and accelerate local economic growth, he stated.

In the infrastructure sector, the Deputy Chief Minister mentioned that a Mini Secretariat is currently being constructed to improve governance and administrative efficiency.

A tourism lodge is also in the works to harness the region's tourism potential. Additionally, several new school buildings under the Shikshit Arunachal initiative are enhancing educational infrastructure, while administrative offices at Pipsorang SDO, Nyorig Circle, and Paye Circle are being built to bring governance closer to the populace.

Furthermore, Mein announced that 100% household coverage has been achieved under the Jal Jeevan Mission, guaranteeing safe drinking water to every household in the area.

In the energy sector, the Pale Hydel Project is nearing completion and is expected to significantly boost electricity supply, supporting sustainable development in the region.
