Jaipur, March 20 (NationPress) Tragically, six individuals lost their lives when a heavy trailer truck loaded with ash overturned and crashed onto a car in the Deshnok police station vicinity of Bikaner, Rajasthan, officials stated on Thursday.
The unfortunate event occurred late Wednesday night. As per police accounts, the accident transpired during an overtaking attempt. The car was en route from Bikaner to Nokha when the trailer truck, heading towards Bikaner from Nokha, lost stability and fell onto the car, utterly crushing it. Local emergency responders faced challenges in extracting the victims.
Three JCBs were summoned to lift the trailer truck, while injured individuals were swiftly transported to a trauma center via ambulances and private vehicles.
The incident was reported to have taken place on a bridge spanning a railway crossing close to Karni Mandir. The car was entirely flattened on the roadway. All six occupants were trapped beneath the truck for approximately half an hour following the collision. With the assistance of a JCB, the trailer truck was raised, allowing for the extraction of the injured.
Of those injured, four were taken to Deshnok CHC and two others to PBM Hospital in Bikaner, where they were pronounced dead.
According to police reports, the deceased were all from the same family and included Ashok (45), son of Jagannath; Moolchand (45), son of Gangaram; Pappuram (55), son of Gangaram; Shyamsundar (60), son of Chetanram; Dwarkaprasad (45), son of Chetanram; and Karniram (50), son of Mohanram.
ASI Charan Singh noted that Moolchand and Pappuram, along with Shyamsundar and Dwarkaprasad, were siblings.
The family was returning to Nokha after participating in a function in Bikaner.
High-ranking police officials, including the IG and SP, arrived at the scene late that night to supervise the rescue efforts and investigation. This devastating incident has left the local community reeling, prompting authorities to advise caution on highways to avert similar mishaps.
