Mumbai, Sep 26 (NationPress) Indian entrepreneur and reality television personality Ashneer Grover, recognized for his role in ‘Shark Tank India’ and currently the host of the streaming series ‘Rise & Fall’, has been approached by the producers of ‘Bigg Boss 19’, which is emceed by Bollywood icon Salman Khan.
On Friday, Ashneer took to his Instagram Stories to post a screenshot of an email he received from the show's producers.
The correspondence was from Rohit Gupta, Senior Casting Coordinator for ‘Bigg Boss’ season 19, inviting Ashneer to participate as a wildcard contestant on the program. The email stated, “We are thrilled to reach out to you with a unique opportunity to be part of the show as a wildcard contestant. Your vibrant personality, active social media engagement, and distinctive charm have impressed our casting team, making you a promising fit for this thrilling role. ‘Bigg Boss’ season 19 continues to enthrall viewers with its captivating blend of drama, entertainment, and human interaction. As a wildcard contestant, you would enter the Bigg Boss house mid-season, infusing fresh energy and a new perspective into the show.”
Although it remains unclear if Ashneer has replied to the email, he shared it on his social media, humorously stating, “Haha! Ask Salman bhai! I’ll be free by then. This ‘mail merge’ is going to take someone’s job.”
Ashneer implied that he would be done with his hosting responsibilities on ‘Rise & Fall’ before any potential offer to join ‘Bigg Boss 19’ comes through.
There’s a history between Ashneer and Salman, as Ashneer was a guest on a ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ episode of ‘Bigg Boss 18’, where host Salman confronted him regarding previous comments Ashneer had made.
Ashneer claimed in a podcast that he was denied a photograph with Salman and alleged that he negotiated Salman’s fee for a brand ambassadorship with his company, BharatPe, lowering it from INR 7.5 crore to INR 4.5 crore. Salman countered some of these assertions, stating he didn’t even recall meeting Ashneer. Ashneer responded by accusing Salman of stirring up “unnecessary drama,” arguing that he left peacefully and that his public remarks were amplified but not disrespectful.
