Patna, Jan 17 (NationPress) As the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi gears up for his visit to Patna on Saturday, an intense poster clash has ignited between the Congress and BJP.
Rahul Gandhi is set to join the "Constitution Security Conference" and engage in a dialogue with party workers during his trip, prompting Congress leaders to inundate the city with welcoming posters.
The Congress posters emphasize the importance of Rahul Gandhi’s visit, depicting it as a moment of dignity and unity.
To showcase their enthusiasm, the party has placed welcoming banners at strategic locations across Patna. In retaliation, BJP leaders have launched a series of mocking posters aimed at Rahul Gandhi and his previous statements.
One notable poster quotes Rahul Gandhi, allegedly stating that his great-grandfather, Jawaharlal Nehru, was involved in defeating Bhimrao Ambedkar in an election. The BJP has framed this as a “reminder to the nation” about Congress's past.
Additional posters emphasize controversial comments attributed to Rahul Gandhi, including the claim that “Hindus are violent.” In response, BJP’s posters assert, “I thought of reminding the Hindu brothers of Bihar.”
Another poster references an alleged comment by Rahul Gandhi regarding the Emergency imposed by his grandmother, Indira Gandhi, remarking, “Congress does not believe in the Constitution, which is why his Dadi imposed Emergency.”
BJP leader Shailesh Mahajan has sharply criticized Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of showing disrespect to the Constitution and to Bhimrao Ambedkar.
Mahajan claimed that Congress members are overly eager to promote Gandhi as a potential Prime Minister despite what he sees as a lack of qualifications.
“Rahul Gandhi neither respects the Constitution nor Bhimrao Ambedkar. Congress leaders are desperate to elevate him to the position of Prime Minister, but what qualifications does he possess? His only credentials are being the grandson, son, and great-grandson of former Prime Ministers,” Mahajan stated.
On Thursday, the Municipal Corporation intervened, removing numerous posters as part of a city-wide cleanliness initiative, with most of the removed posters belonging to Congress, leading to criticism from party members.
Nevertheless, on Friday, Congress replenished its posters, further escalating the visual conflict, while the BJP continued to counter with new displays.
