Patna, June 6 (NationPress) The commencement of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's extensive tour in Bihar has ignited a significant political controversy, with multiple leaders from the ruling NDA, including Union Ministers Jitan Ram Manjhi, Giriraj Singh, and Bihar Minister Nitin Naveen, unleashing a series of sharp critiques against him and his party.
Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi took to social media platform X to welcome Rahul Gandhi to what he referred to as the "new Bihar," contrasting it with the purported chaos of the RJD-Congress rule from two decades ago.
“Welcome Rahul Gandhi, to the good governance in Bihar. Bihar is no longer the same that Lalu Prasad’s RJD and the Gandhi family left us 20 years ago… If Rahul Gandhi had visited Bihar during Lalu Prasad’s era, he could have faced kidnapping,” Manjhi expressed, implying that Sonia Gandhi would have needed to bargain with criminals via Lalu Prasad for her son’s release.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh intensified his remarks, accusing Rahul Gandhi of making statements that “defame the Indian Army,” asserting: “This person speaks the language of Pakistan. He has insulted our army’s symbols, which is a treacherous act.”
On the other hand, Bihar Road Construction Minister Nitin Naveen charged Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party with showing disrespect towards Dr B.R. Ambedkar, insisting on an apology to the nation.
“Rahul Gandhi should explain to the nation why his party has never honored Babasaheb Ambedkar. The exploitation of women was also rampant during Congress's governance,” Naveen claimed in Patna.
As the political climate heated up, Rahul Gandhi arrived in Gaya to meet the family of Dashrath Manjhi, the renowned “Mountain Man” of Bihar.
He is also set to visit Rajgir in Nalanda, where he will participate in a 'Samvidhan Sammelan' and return to Gaya for a Mahila Samvad (women’s dialogue) event.
This visit is a part of Congress’ larger initiative to rejuvenate its standing in Bihar ahead of the Assembly elections, aiming to connect with grassroots communities and marginalized groups.
