Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Jan 7 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, has made a significant announcement to set aside two days each week—Monday and Friday—solely for addressing the grievances of the public in government offices across the state.
This initiative was shared by Nitish Kumar via a post on his official 'X' profile.
As per the Chief Minister's statement, on these designated days, citizens can directly approach the relevant officials at their respective offices to discuss and resolve their issues.
This initiative extends to all tiers of government offices, encompassing Gram Panchayat, Police Stations, Circle, Block, Sub-division, District, Divisional, and State-level offices.
“On the specified days (Monday and Friday), individuals will have the opportunity to meet with the respective officers at their assigned offices in all government establishments to address their grievances,” stated Nitish Kumar.
He emphasized that all officers are required to be present in their offices on these days, engage with citizens courteously, listen to their concerns with empathy, and ensure swift resolution of issues.
Referring to the Seven Resolutions-3 initiative, introduced shortly after the new government took office on November 20, 2025, the Chief Minister noted that this effort aligns with the seventh resolution, which is centered around “Respect for All – Ease of Living.”
The aim of this resolution is to alleviate the daily challenges faced by citizens and enhance the accessibility and responsiveness of governance.
“It has frequently been noticed that when citizens visit government offices with their concerns, the officers are often absent, leading to inconvenience. This system has been established to ensure that individuals do not encounter difficulties within government offices,” remarked the Chief Minister.
As part of this initiative, all government offices have been instructed to ensure basic amenities such as seating, drinking water, and toilet facilities for visitors.
A grievance register will be maintained in each office, along with a mechanism for ongoing monitoring of complaints to ensure accountability.
All officers have been instructed to implement this system starting January 19, 2026.
The Chief Minister expressed optimism that this initiative would greatly benefit the public and accelerate the resolution of their issues.
“I am assured that this initiative will be highly advantageous for the common people of the state and will enhance their daily lives,” stated CM Kumar, adding that citizens can submit suggestions regarding the system by January 10, 2026, through designated channels.
