New Delhi, June 1 (NationPress) The Nawada Police announced on Sunday that they have unraveled the murder mystery of a 16-year-old girl from Hisua, Bihar. Her lifeless body was discovered stuffed in a blue trolley bag near Chandapura Railway Station in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
The victim, Riya Kumari, was reported missing on May 15 and was tragically murdered on May 20.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of seven individuals, including Riya's boyfriend, Ashik Kumar, who has been identified as the primary suspect.
According to police reports, Ashik, who is married with two children, brutally took Riya's life and, along with six accomplices, disposed of her body to conceal their crime.
The arrests followed a meticulously coordinated operation led by Anil Kumar Singh, the in-charge of Hisua Police Station.
Acting on reliable intelligence, the police encircled Rahul Nagar village in the Hisua police station jurisdiction, successfully apprehending all seven suspects.
Authorities disclosed that the murder occurred on May 20, while Riya's aunt and uncle were away at work.
During questioning, Ashik admitted to killing Riya by violently slamming her to the ground, sitting on her chest, and strangling her. He further confessed to smashing her head against the floor, which resulted in her neck breaking and caused her death.
Post-murder, Ashik summoned his friends to the scene and deceitfully claimed that Riya had committed suicide. He coerced them into corroborating his narrative. His uncle suggested hiding the body, and to mislead investigators, they shattered a windowpane from inside the residence to create the illusion that someone had seen the body from outside.
They subsequently packed Riya's body into the blue trolley bag, hired a cab, and drove to a secluded area near Chandapura Railway Station. Despite the driver's suspicions, he was bribed and sent away. The body was discarded near the railway tracks and discovered the following morning by the Surya Nagar Police.
Through viral social media posts and news reports, Riya's family was able to identify her.
The arrested suspects include Ashik Kumar, his uncle Mukesh Kumar, aunt Indu Devi, and accomplices Rajaram Ravidas (son of Ranjit Ravidas), Rajoo Kumar (son of Pyarechand Ravidas), Kalu Ravidas (son of Sunil Ravidas), and Mohan Kumar.
All individuals apprehended have been handed over to Inspector Sanjeev Mahajan of Surya Nagar Police.
Investigations are ongoing to ensure all those involved are brought to justice.
