Key Takeaways
Chandigarh, March 26 (NationPress) The President of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Punjab, Sunil Jakhar, on Thursday addressed the urgent need for safeguarding the family of Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, a Divisional Manager at the warehousing corporation who tragically took his own life.
In the wake of his death, a minister resigned. Jakhar noted in a video statement that supporters of former minister Laljit Singh Bhullar continue to chant slogans in support of his ideology, while the government has failed to provide any security for Randhawa’s family.
“Furthermore, not a single official has reached out to offer condolences to the grieving family,” highlighted the BJP leader.
He commended Randhawa's wife, stating that she is from a noble and honest family and is bravely fighting for justice.
Expressing admiration for her resilience, Jakhar emphasized that she has resisted government pressure and is fearlessly seeking justice for her late husband, who was known for his integrity.
He elaborated that due to the ongoing support for the former minister from his followers and the posts circulating on Facebook that underscore the minister’s family’s influence within the government, it is critical to ensure the safety of Randhawa’s family.
Jakhar urged all Punjabis to unite, putting aside their differences, to advocate for justice for an honest officer, ensuring that those responsible for this tragic loss face appropriate consequences and that individuals who embody honesty do not lose hope.
“If justice is not served for Gagandeep Singh Randhawa today, then it will signal a bleak future for anyone standing up for honesty in our nation and state,” he asserted.
He assured the family that the Bharatiya Janata Party will remain steadfastly supportive, pledging to advocate for justice until it is achieved.
