Kolkata, Jan 17 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized on Saturday that only the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can eradicate the politics of violence in West Bengal, mirroring its success in other eastern Indian states recently.
While addressing a rally in Malda district, PM Modi remarked, "The BJP has established governance in Odisha. The citizens of Tripura and Assam have welcomed the BJP. Just recently, a BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government was reinstated in Bihar. Now is the moment for effective governance in West Bengal. After the Bihar elections victory, I proclaimed that with the blessings of Mother Ganga, the river of development will soon flow in West Bengal. Just as the BJP has put an end to the politics of violence in other eastern states, we will do the same here."
He continued, "We are committed to restoring the lost prestige of West Bengal. On one hand, Trinamool Congress leaders are misappropriating funds from the Union government under various welfare initiatives, while on the other, the state government is obstructing the implementation of several central schemes. This has led to the people of West Bengal being deprived of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme."
As per the Prime Minister, the safety of women in West Bengal has plummeted to an alarming low under the Trinamool Congress rule.
"The power to change the current dire situation lies solely with the people. They can leverage their voting rights to put an end to corruption and oppression. Only they can terminate this reign of terror," he urged.
He highlighted that the Union Government's commitment to the state's development is evident, as the first sleeper Vande Bharat Express originates from West Bengal, inaugurated earlier that day at Malda station.
