Key Takeaways
Kolkata, March 14 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Saturday that a government transition in West Bengal is unavoidable, echoing sentiments that are already apparent in the public consciousness of the state.
"The impending regime switch is evident both on the walls and in the thoughts of the citizens of West Bengal. There is a collective call for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to take the reins in the state. The time has come to put an end to the Jungle Raj in Bengal," the Prime Minister declared during a grand rally at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata, which concluded the party's "Parivartan Yatra" ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections later this year.
Prime Minister Modi noted that after taking office in West Bengal in 2011, the Trinamool Congress began to strengthen itself by integrating the most infamous criminal figures from the previous Left Front government into its ranks.
"This betrayal by the Trinamool Congress has disappointed the people of West Bengal, who had hoped for positive change when they replaced the Left Front with Trinamool Congress. The infusion of criminal elements into governance has led to rampant corruption, violence, and horrific crimes against women throughout the state. Each crime, particularly those against women, often has a connection to a Trinamool Congress leader," he stated.
Despite these challenges, the Prime Minister expressed optimism, stating that the day is near when the BJP will restore the rule of law in West Bengal.
"We will not spare any criminal. I assure you that the oppression faced by the people of West Bengal at the hands of the ruling Trinamool Congress will conclude soon. The rule of law will prevail, replacing the law of the ruler. The only place for Trinamool Congress' criminals will be behind bars," he emphasized.
Additionally, he pointed out that the state government and the ruling Trinamool Congress are perpetually endorsing illegal infiltration, significantly altering the socio-demographic landscape in various districts. These infiltrators pose a threat to the citizens, particularly women, yet remain the loyal vote bank for Trinamool Congress, which hinders efforts to create a transparent voters' list," PM Modi explained.
He concluded by stating that the sole focus of the Trinamool Congress is to obstruct the development and welfare of the people in West Bengal, preventing others from making progress.
