New Delhi, Oct 23 (NationPress) Senior BJP figure and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad launched a fierce critique against RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and his family, alleging they operate a corruption family business and deceive the citizens of Bihar with misleading promises.
During a press conference in Patna, Prasad claimed that those who have “built their politics on scams” are now making empty vows of good governance and employment.
Mocking Tejashwi Yadav's recent assertions about providing jobs to every household, Prasad stated, “Bihar has 2.60 crore households. To give one job per home, you need Rs 12 lakh crore. The state budget is just Rs 3 lakh crore. Where will the funds come from?” He cautioned the public against falling for such deceptive assurances.
Emphasizing the corruption cases against the RJD family, Prasad noted that former CM Lalu Prasad Yadav has been convicted in four cases, serving a cumulative sentence of 32.5 years.
He mentioned that Tejashwi Yadav himself is under scrutiny for serious allegations in the ‘Land-for-Hotel’ and ‘Land-for-Jobs’ scams.
“The Delhi High Court has scheduled the trial to commence from October 27. While Lalu was the Rail Minister, two hotels were illegally handed over to an ineligible Patna hotelier in exchange for 3.5 acres of land valued at Rs 95 crore,” he elaborated.
“Tejashwi Yadav speaks of zero tolerance for corruption, but should we trust the records of his father, mother, or himself?” Prasad questioned. He accused the RJD of employing a “tried-and-true model” -- 'hotel do, zameen lo; naukri lo, zameen do' -- urging the people of Bihar to stay alert.
In defense of the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government, Prasad stated, “NDA fulfills its promises. Roads, bridges, and women empowerment through the Jeevika scheme demonstrate genuine progress, not mere slogans.” He asserted that under NDA, Bihar has experienced authentic development, while the RJD’s legacy is marked by loot, lies, and corruption.
Earlier, after a period of intense factionalism and uncertainty, the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) in Bihar officially named Tejashwi Yadav as its Chief Ministerial candidate for the impending Bihar Assembly election.
This declaration was made during a joint press conference at Hotel Maurya, Patna, by former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in the presence of leaders from allied parties.
