BJP Critiques Rahul Gandhi's Parliamentary Disruptions
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 12 (NationPress) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain sharply criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday, accusing him of undermining the dignity of Parliament and causing disturbances during its proceedings.
Hussain claimed that following the Congress party's acquisition of 99 seats in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi has adopted the attitude that Parliament should operate according to his preferences.
He emphasized that the functioning of Parliament is governed by the Speaker's directives, not by the wishes of the Opposition or the ruling party.
"Rahul Gandhi seems to treat Parliament as a mere jest. Following the acquisition of 99 seats, he appears to think that Parliament should function as he desires. The governance of Parliament lies with the Speaker, not the Opposition or the ruling party. When the Speaker attempts to manage him (Rahul Gandhi), he responds by introducing a no-confidence motion against the Speaker. Moreover, he frequently walks out during discussions," Hussain asserted.
He further accused the Congress leader of persistently causing disruptions within the House.
According to BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain, sending women MPs to interrupt Prime Minister Narendra Modi, attempting to embarrass the Speaker, engaging in turmoil over various issues, and neglecting the Chair's rulings have become habitual behaviors of the Lok Sabha's Leader of Opposition.
"Such behavior is unacceptable, and the electorate responds to it in the polls," he remarked.
The BJP Spokesperson also contended that Rahul Gandhi lacks substantial matters to bring up in Parliament.
"Rahul Gandhi is devoid of significant issues to discuss. He is a leader without a cause and has transformed Parliament into a battleground. His habit of disseminating propaganda against the Prime Minister is the reason his party consistently performs poorly in elections," Hussain stated.
He predicted that the Congress party would encounter electoral challenges in the forthcoming state elections.
"They (Congress) are poised to lose all seats in West Bengal and Assam," BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain proclaimed.
On the topic of the global energy crisis, Hussain highlighted that the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the US, and Israel has instigated an international oil and gas crisis.
He remarked that the involvement of several Gulf nations has escalated global oil prices and led to gas supply shortages.
Despite these global challenges, he noted that India has effectively maintained control over oil and gas prices.
"In spite of this scenario, India has largely kept oil and gas prices in check. However, Congress is misleading the public by circulating posters from 2011 and showcasing long queues to incite panic," Hussain added.
Reflecting on the Union government's management of past crises, he remarked that the world witnessed how Prime Minister Narendra Modi handled the Covid-19 pandemic and affirmed that there is no need for concern with the Prime Minister at the helm.
