BJP Condemns Mamata Banerjee's Remarks on CRPF Deployment
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, April 7 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has vehemently criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee following her assertion at a public event that 200 vehicles transporting the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are en route to West Bengal, "from Uttar Pradesh via Ayodhya to attack you".
The state of West Bengal is set to hold its Assembly elections in two phases on April 23 and 29.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini accused Banerjee of surpassing the previous CPI-M regime in her governance.
He stated, "The people of Bengal trusted Mamata Banerjee. Yet, she has exceeded even the Communists. Presently, the youth face violence, unemployment rates are soaring, and many workers are compelled to leave the state. The populace is discontented."
Saini further alleged that the Trinamool Congress leader has formed her government by depending on the votes of illegal immigrants.
"Mamata Banerjee is confused, which is why she is making unfounded claims. She seeks to maintain her government with the support of illegal immigrants," he remarked.
He accused the infiltrators of devastating the economic and social fabric of West Bengal.
The Haryana Chief Minister labeled the Trinamool's 15-year governance as a period of "mismanagement".
"The citizens of Bengal will put an end to it. The injustices perpetrated by Mamata 'didi' against the youth and women have exacerbated poverty. All instances of corruption will be exposed," he added.
BJP leader Rohan Gupta conveyed to IANS that the forces, including the CRPF, are the "honor and pride of the nation".
"Issuing such incendiary remarks against them reveals the mentality of these individuals. Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress are aware that, given the current ground realities, they are facing a significant defeat in this election. That is why they are resorting to fear-mongering and provocative politics," he stated.
Bihar Minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal accused CM Banerjee of propagating "false narratives".
"She is now making such statements because she senses her support is dwindling. There is no truth to these assertions, and she is playing her final card by making such claims," he told IANS.
Praful Patel, an MP from the NCP, expressed confidence in the Election Commission (EC), asserting that there is nothing irregular about the EC's deployment of central forces.
"I trust that the Election Commission consistently aims to ensure free and fair elections, not just in Bengal, but throughout the nation. They deploy central forces wherever law and order is at risk. This is neither new nor inappropriate," he told reporters.
