What Achievements Mark One Year of BJP Governance in Delhi?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 20 (NationPress) Chief Minister Rekha Gupta celebrated the first anniversary of the Delhi government on Friday, emphasizing the government's commitment to delivering results, implementing welfare programs, and fostering a positive change throughout the city.
In her address to the media, Gupta stated, “Every initiative we have undertaken is rooted in the idea of minimizing paperwork and maximizing productivity. Today, this mindset is evident on the ground. The government of Delhi does not indulge in poster or tweet politics – we have transformed the work culture in our city.”
“We accomplish what previous administrations only discussed: We provide solutions. Where there used to be procrastination and blame-shifting, we accept accountability and complete tasks within set deadlines. This philosophy is in alignment with the BJP’s nationalist vision and the Prime Minister’s guiding principle – 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas' – ensuring our political focus remains on service and development rather than personal or party advantages,” she continued.
Reflecting on this milestone, she asserted, “I can assure the residents of Delhi that we have made strides across all sectors to initiate a positive change. As I share my report card today, this document, detailing our significant accomplishments, will be distributed widely.”
Gupta elaborated on various welfare initiatives introduced during her tenure.
She mentioned, “The BJP adheres to Deendayal Upadhyay’s Antyodaya philosophy, prioritizing the welfare of the underprivileged. On our very first day, the Cabinet approved the Ayushman Yojana, providing a health cover of ₹10 lakh. Within a year, 7 lakh individuals have registered, and over 30,000 beneficiaries have received health benefits through Ayushman Bharat and the Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana (PMVVY).
Discussing food security, she stated, “A fundamental aspect of our welfare approach is that food is a basic necessity for everyone. With the aim of ensuring no one in Delhi faces hunger, we launched Atal Canteens. Currently, 70 Atal Canteens are operational, providing nutritious meals for just ₹5 to the poor, residents of shelters, and laborers.”
Expressing her gratitude, Gupta remarked, “I sincerely thank the citizens of Delhi for granting the BJP the chance to serve in this city. I am especially grateful to all BJP workers whose dedication has established a majority government. My deep appreciation goes out to the women of Delhi and our nation, whose support has fueled my energy and resolve.”
She concluded, “This past year was a pivotal moment to shift Delhi’s trajectory, and I assure you that the next five years will focus on transforming the city’s conditions.”
Earlier, the Chief Minister visited the Marghat Wale Hanuman Baba Temple to seek blessings and distributed prasad to sanitation workers, reinforcing her dedication to welfare and community involvement.
