Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Gandhinagar, April 15 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has progressed into the second phase of its three-phase campaign for the imminent local self-government elections, as disclosed by party officials on Wednesday. This marks a significant ramp-up in their outreach strategy across Gujarat.
During a press conference held at the BJP state headquarters in Gandhinagar, chief spokesperson Dr. Anil Patel stated, “The BJP’s campaign, which unfolds in three phases, is currently advancing through the second stage; the first phase concluded prior to the nomination form submission, and the third phase will persist until voting day.”
These statements coincided with an exhibition showcasing the party’s election campaign materials and literature at the state office.
Party leaders indicated that the display highlighted a wide array of campaign materials developed for the elections.
Patel emphasized that the campaign is being executed through multiple channels, merging grassroots engagement with digital initiatives.
“With BJP’s robust organizational framework extending to the booth level, the electoral campaign is being effectively delivered via door-to-door outreach, digital marketing, and even through songs and music,” he explained.
He noted that the campaign's goal is to effectively communicate the accomplishments of both the Central and State governments.
“Through these initiatives, the populace is informed about the pro-people development projects and welfare schemes spearheaded by the Central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alongside the state government led by Bhupendra Patel,” Patel mentioned.
Outlining the campaign materials, he remarked that the party has curated a diverse collection for election campaigning.
“For the electoral outreach, the BJP has prepared various materials, including campaign literature booklets, banners highlighting schemes and development initiatives, and items featuring the lotus symbol, suitable for both children and adults,” he stated, adding that these will be distributed widely to amplify outreach.
Highlighting the party’s overarching messaging, Patel affirmed, “Grounded in development, good governance, and public welfare initiatives, the BJP is progressing in its election campaign, bolstered by the confidence of the people.”
He also expressed that the slogan interlinking public support to development resonates with the current sentiments of the populace.
Patel expressed optimism regarding the party’s electoral outcomes, stating, “Based on our development track record, the people of Gujarat will once again bestow a grand victory upon the BJP.”
In a separate earlier statement, Patel took a jab at the Congress regarding its electoral strategy, referring to what he termed as “resort politics.”
“Initially, Congress engaged in a ‘find candidate’ campaign. Now, they have shifted to a ‘hide candidate’ approach. On the results day, they will be running a ‘hide face’ campaign,” he quipped.
Additionally, he alleged, “A Congress leader admitted that the party solicits money for ticket allocation,” insinuating that the opposition lacks faith in its own candidates.
“The Congress has no trust in its own candidates. On the 28th, they will confront their genuine standing,” Patel remarked.
Meanwhile, the Congress has relocated over 100 of its candidates to undisclosed “safe locations” across various parts of Gujarat, including districts like Navsari, Rajkot, and Surat, amid anxiety over alleged candidate poaching and inducements ahead of the withdrawal deadline.
This decision followed a series of uncontested victories by the BJP across numerous seats, with the opposition asserting that its candidates faced pressure to retract nominations.
