Why Did BJP's Shashank Mani Condemn Slogans Against PM Modi?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Dec 15 (NationPress) BJP MP Shashank Mani Tripathi on Monday criticized the offensive slogans directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a Congress rally, asserting that such language aimed at the Prime Minister is entirely unacceptable.
The uproar began following the Congress party's “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod” rally, which took place at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on Sunday. Numerous videos emerged on social media displaying Congress supporters chanting inflammatory slogans like “Modi teri kabar khudegi” while moving towards the rally site, prompting strong backlash from the BJP.
In a statement to IANS, Tripathi remarked, “When individuals are angry and discontented, they resort to such language. I believe that after the speech of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Parliament, they felt provoked and exited. To employ such phrases against the Prime Minister is entirely unacceptable. He is not merely the head of a political party, but the leader of our nation.”
He continued, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi occupies the highest constitutional office in the country. I do not believe anyone holds a higher position than him. Using such language against the Prime Minister is completely unacceptable, and I strongly denounce it. If they persist in using such rhetoric, the public will once again teach them a lesson. The citizens of this nation will respond appropriately to such conduct.”
The BJP leader also commented on the recent appointment of Bihar Minister Nitin Nabin as the party's National Working President. He stated that this decision showcases the party's commitment to elevating capable leaders from local to national roles.
“This appointment embodies the BJP's vision of promoting individuals from grassroots who possess exceptional talents to the national platform. Nitin Nabin's selection illustrates that the BJP believes everyday individuals can instigate significant change, and the party provides them with opportunities to ascend to top organizational positions,” Tripathi communicated to IANS.
The BJP Parliamentary Board sanctioned Nitin Nabin's role as the party's Working President on Sunday. This decision arises as the term of the current BJP National President and Union Minister J.P. Nadda has concluded, and talks regarding his successor are underway.
A letter from BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh confirmed that Nitin Nabin's role as National Working President is effective immediately. The letter emphasized the party's ongoing emphasis on merit-based leadership and enhanced youth involvement at the highest organizational levels.
Earlier in the day, Nabin prayed at the Hanuman Temple in Patna before heading to Delhi. After his prayers, he visited Rajvanshi Nagar, where he paid respects to his late father and senior BJP leader Naveen Kishore Prasad Sinha at his statue.
In his first media interaction after taking on his new role, Nabin expressed gratitude to the party and reflected on his father's ideological heritage.
“The party gave me the chance to run for elections 20 years ago after my father's passing. I am profoundly grateful to the Bharatiya Janata Party for placing their trust in me and allowing me to collaborate with party workers, culminating in my current position,” he remarked.
